Tata Curvv Witnessed Testing in Camouflaged Form Before Official Launch

Tata Curvv after its premiere in Auto Expo 2023 is going to unveil its official look soon. Recently it was seen testing on Indian roads in a camouflaged version which was showcased on Instagram by social media profile MotorBeam.

Tata Motors appears prepared to unravel Tata Curvv launch as its next significant entry into the SUV market after redesigning its array of SUVs with the all-new facelifted Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. The Tata Curvv coupe-SUV, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo earlier this year, was recently observed on a public road in the evening hours in a fully camouflaged condition. This is the second time that the Tata Curvv test mule has been observed; the first time was a few days ago when it was discovered in a parking lot.

Similar to the earlier sighting, the Tata Curvv coupe-SUVs back profile was heavily concealed by extra wraps over the sloping rear glass. However, the general appearance of the test mule indicates that the production Curvv will maintain its distinctive coupe-SUV styling. Even though the test mule was completely covered in camouflage, it nevertheless shows off certain design cues that are anticipated in the final product.

First and foremost, like the redesigned Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, the Tata Curvv (which will get a new name when it is released) will embrace the new front fascia motif and include a long LED joining bar between daytime running LEDs atop its svelte grille. The Curvv will have split headlight assemblies with LED projectors, just like the more recent iterations of Tata's current SUVs. The Curvv will feature a blanked-off grille in its electric variant, much like the upcoming Nexon EV.

The Tata Curvv test mule also reveals that it has different alloy wheels from the idea that was on display at the Auto Expo 2023. The test mule also hints that the Curvv will have high-running window lines, a sloping roofline at the back, and flush-type door handles. Additionally, thinner LED taillamps with a connected light bar are anticipated for the rear profile. A new 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, six standard airbags, a touch-controlled panel for the automatic air conditioning, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof are slated to be standard on the Curvv.

The 1.5-liter diesel engine and the 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine from the Nexon are anticipated to be the base powertrains for the Tata Curvv. However, there are reports that it will also be available as an option in higher-spec vehicles with the automaker's new generation 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The Nexon Long Range's battery and motor configuration are anticipated to be used in the all-electric Curvv, which will be based on Tata's Gen 2 platform.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Citroen C3 Aircross will be competitors for the Tata Curvv when it goes into production in the first half of 2024. The Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV are two electric vehicles that the Tata Curvv EV will compete against.
