Teaser of Okinawa Cruiser Electric Maxi-Scooter Released

Like every other scooter in India, the Cruiser also doesn't seem to have a flat foot board and it has a portion in the center that could most definitely hold the battery pack.

Okinawa sent out a teaser image for a concept that could take center stage at its Auto Expo 2020 stand. It's named the Cruiser and has a traditional profile of maxi-scooter. This would most likely be an electric scooter and may very well be the most premium deal in the line-up of the company.

While the teaser picture doesn't show the location for the feet, the name of the scooter, the wide frame and the handlebar position lead us to believe it will have forward-set foot rests. This will offer passengers the opportunity to appreciate the sight of a maxi-scooter, at least as it comes to the riding position. Like every other scooter in India, the Cruiser does not appear to have a flat footboard either. The middle section most likely will house the battery pack.

If this is the approach taken by Okinawa, then it will encourage the company to provide a decent amount of under seat storage space–perhaps even the best we've seen on a scooter so far–but only time will tell. While in the teaser the scooter looks like a regular maxi-scooter, we do hope it matches the performance.

Maxi-scooters are usually associated with high-speed, long-distance cruising and no Okinawa device can accomplish that as of now. When Okinawa manages to turn it around, this could indeed be a capable e-scooter in terms of performance and size.

While it appears in the picture as a competitor or electrical substitute to Suzuki Burgman Road, we wouldn't go so far as to name it until we've had the specs.
