The next-generation MG Astor SUV is known as the MG ZS in international markets. The design patent for the upcoming MG Astor/ZS has been leaked online, suggesting that the SUV is all set to receive significant styling updates. The upcoming MG Astor features a revamped front fascia with a new wide grille, redesigned headlamps, and a sportier bumper. The bonnet of the SUV appears to be slightly longer, and its front fascia looks inspired by the MG3 hatchback.
The midsize SUV features a new set of alloy wheels, lane-watch cameras mounted on the wing mirrors, and an upward-curving shoulder line in the back. Additionally, the glass area appears somewhat larger than before. The bumper, tailgate, and wraparound tail lamps on the back have also been redesigned.

As of now, MG Motor has not announced the official launch date of the next-generation Astor in India. However, the automaker is expected to launch the updated MG Astor in India sometime in 2026. MG Astor’s fully electric variant, the MG ZS EV, will also receive the same updates.
In addition, MG is anticipated to introduce a powerful hybrid drivetrain for the new Astor. The company intends to introduce eight models in India between 2025 and 2028, including the redesigned Astor, Hector, Gloster, a new MPV, the Cyberster electric sports car, a new sedan, and more.
In India, the MG Astor is priced between INR 9.98 lakh and INR 17.90 lakh (ex-showroom). In its segment, the SUV rivals the likes of the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Kushaq, Elevate, and Taigun.
The company started its India journey with the introduction of the W124 E-class in 1995, and it has now crossed an important production milestone –its 1,00,000th car for the Indian market has rolled out of its plant at Chakan in Pune.
