Tata Nexon EV Deliveries Begin in Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Bangalore

Tata Motors resume operations in green zones; begins deliveries of Nexon EV in selected cities amidst lockdown.

Tata Motors has resumed deliveries of its Nexon EV in the selected cities amidst Coronavirus Lockdown. Car showrooms in the green zone have been granted permission to operate in strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the authorities.

Customers who have booked Tata Nexon EV in Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore are receiving their vehicles based on booking priority. The company is likely to resume deliveries of Nexon EV in other major cities across the country as well. Tata Motors sold 198 units of Nexon EV in the month of March. But due to the lockdown initiated in the last week of March, the automotive industry came to a standstill with halted production and ceased deliveries. There has also been the cancellation of bookings on a large scale as the customers steered clear of hefty EMIs during this tough time. 

Tata Nexon EV

Tata Motors launched Nexon EV in the price range of Rs 13.99 lakhs - Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Tata Electric SUV is offered in three trims namely XM, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX. It is available in three color options such as blue, white, and silver.

Cosmetically, the electric SUV features projector halogen headlamps with LED DRLs. On the sides, it gets 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear end gets LED tail lamps. Tata Nexon EV comes equipped with a plethora of interior features. These include a touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, a Harman sound system, climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, cruise control, a multi-info display, and keyless entry with push-button start. In terms of safety features, it gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear parking camera, and sensors.

Under the skin, it is powered by the automaker's new Ziptron powertrain. The system comprises a permanent magnet synchronous motor that churns out 127 bhp power and 245 Nm torque. The motor is supported by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and has an ARAI claimed range of 312 kms. Nexon EV’s powertrain supports fast-charging. It takes an hour for a 0-80 percent battery recharge.
