Toyota takes wraps off its Crown luxury sedan

The luxury sedan now comes with Toyota’s connected functions as standard.

The company showed the 15th generation of its luxury sedan, the Crown recently. The car will be the first to be fitted with Toyota’s Data Communication Module as standard. Toyota’s New connected car technology offers 24x7 connectivity services that look after safety, security, comfort, and convenience based on real-time driving data. The Crown also comes with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and auto high beams.

The car is powered by two hybrid systems and a turbo-petrol engine. The 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid system makes a combined figure of 226hp, while the bigger 3.5-litre V6 petrol-hybrid system makes over 359hp and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the turbo-petrol engine makes 245hp and 350Nm. On the inside, there’s an 8-inch display that sits at the back for viewing information while driving and there’s a 7-inch screen at the bottom for easier operation.

For now, there is now news on whether Toyota will bring the Crown to India.
