TVS launched its new Rs 1.15 lakh electric scooter, iQube (on-road, Bengaluru). The iQube scooter can be booked from January 27 on through the brand's website, as well as via 10 Bengaluru dealerships. The scooter will be later on going on sale in other metros.

Powering the iQube is an electric 4.4kW engine that drives the scooter to an estimated top speed of 78kph. The Bajaj Chetak, by contrast, has a top speed of 60kph whereas the Ather 450 can go up to 80kph. TVS states that its iQube will cover 75 km at single charge–this is on a par with the Ather 450 and somewhat below the 95 km range reported by the Bajaj Chetak. TVS also reports a period of 4.2 seconds for 0-40kph. The scooter comes with two operating modes–economy and strength–and regenerative braking. There is no external battery on the iQube.

The iQube TVS is fitted with a' next-gen SmartXonnect TVS framework' which includes a cluster of TFT instruments and the iQube TVS software. All users can access functionality such as geo-fencing, remote battery charging status, navigation assistance, last park position, and incoming call notifications / SMS alerts, among others.

The iQube TVS is quite simple when it comes to design and seems to target buyers of all ages. The electric scooter actually just comes in a white color. The 12-inch wheels look like same ones on the special-edition Jupiter that first made an appearance. The scooter's headlight and taillight are LED components. The scooter also sports a special U-shaped LED DRL at the front, along with an' power' badge near the engine that comes with display.
