The faired, touring-oriented version of the FZ25 is priced at ₹1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai)

Yamaha has launched the Fazer25, the second 250cc motorcycle from the Japanese bike-maker for India. It is the faired version of the recently launched FZ25, and at ₹1.28 lakh (ex-Mumbai), it is about ₹10,000 costlier than its naked sibling.

It is the second bike in Yamaha’s small-displacement Fazer range, but unlike the smaller Fazer FI, it uses a full fairing. The fairing’s wind-protection should make the Fazer25 better suited for touring duties. While the fairing, with its faux air intakes and LED day-time running lights, makes it stand out, the Fazer25 is mechanically identical to the FZ25. It’s got the same 20.9hp, 249cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, five-speed gearbox and underpinnings as the naked.

Just like the FZ25, the Fazer25 misses out on ABS. The safety feature will be introduced on the motorcycle later. Its closest rival comes in the form of the Bajaj RS200.
