Yamaha India has recalled 7,757 units of Yamaha FZ FI, FZ-S FI back that are manufactured in October 2019 onwards. The recall is to address the issue related to the non-fitment of the rear-side reflector.

Yamaha India has called 7,757 units of Yamaha FZ FI, FZ-S FI back that are manufactured in October 2019 onwards.

The recall is to address the issue related to the non-fitment of the rear-side reflector. The company has assured that the reflectors will be fitted at free of cost for the affected motorcycles. The owners of these bikes can visit any of the Yamaha authorized dealers and get the rear side reflector corrected.

Also, the owners of the bikes with the above mentioned defects will be contacted individually. The recall of the bikes shows the company’s compliance with safety norms. The BS6 FZ and FZ-S V3.0 were recently launched in November 2019.

The bikes are powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder engine just like the previous model. However, the compression ratio has been increased from 9.5:1 to 9.6:1. It is interesting to note that the new BSVI bike makes less power but more torque than the previous model.

The previous bike model made 13.2 bhp of power at 8,000 RPM and 12.8Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM. While the new bike model produces 12.4 bhp of power at 7,250 RPM and 13.6Nm at 5,500 RPM. It can be noticed that the peak torque in the BSVI model comes at a low rev range. The bike remains unchanged as features like the front and rear disc brakes paired with single-channel ABS just like the previous bike model.

The Yamaha FZS-FI BSVI variant has an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1,02,700.
