INTRODUCTION

Buying a used car or bike or more? Make sure you get the transfer of ownership, as just paying the seller does not make you the owner of the vehicle. This means if you are investing in a second-hand automobile, then it is very important to get the transfer of ownership on your name.

Transfer of Ownership

By the term transfer of ownership, we mean that the ownership of a property (car, scooter, bike or more) is transferred from one person to another. When a person buy an automobile, then buyer must transfer the ownership of the vehicle on his/her name and address. Transfer of ownership is an important legal process and to get the vehicle transferred to your name, buyer should apply for the same to their concerned SDO (Civil)-cum-Registering Authority.

If you want to get transfer of ownership for a vehicle, then you can directly visit RTO Office of your area with the appropriate and verified documents. There are also many other standalone service providers which can help you in the process of ownership transfer. You can get transfer of ownership through any standalone merchant, but opt for a verified and experienced service provider, or directly visit your nearest RTO office. They offer better and economical services that are worth.

Documents Required for Transfer of Ownership (Automobiles)

  1. Original RC
  2. Valid Insurance copy
  3. Valid Pollution certificate copy
  4. Seller's ID Proof copy
  5. Two copies of Form 29 filled and signed by both seller and buyer
  6. Two copies of Form 30 filled and signed by both seller and buyer
  7. Affidavit from seller and purchaser on ₹10 stamp paper
  8. Purchase ID proof copy
  9. Two address proof from Purchaser's side (attach electricity bill copy if you have)
  10. Copy of G.I.R./Pan No. or Form No. 60/Form No. 61 (in case of cars only in Delhi)
