The German manufacturer, BMW launched the S1000RR in the year 2010 and immediately it was the benchmark for all the litre class supersport bikes. The next-gen of the bike will be unveiled at the EICMA show on November 5 and the specifications of the bike have been leaked online.
The major visual change on the bike is that the asymmetrical headlights have been replaced by twin projector headlamp units. The bike retains the BMW’s signature blue, red and white colour scheme. The bike being all fuelled up weighs 197 kg and if you choose the M package the weight reduces by 3.5 kg.
The upcoming motorcycle packs a lot of technologies like ABS, four riding modes (rain, road, dynamic and race), dynamic traction control (DTC), hill start control (HSC) and shift assist pro as standard. There is a full-colour TFT display as an instrument cluster.
Powering the motorcycle is an all-new 999cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine that churns out 207 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. The top speed of the bike is limited to 299 km/hr. The engine is equipped with BMW ShiftCam which is basically a variable valve technology. This bike is expected to reach our shores in the first quarter of 2019.
