The American carmaker has updated the Camaro ZL1 1LE with a new option of a 10-speed automatic transmission

General Motors is introducing the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE in the international market. The updated muscle car is more or less the same in terms of cosmetics but gets mechanical changes for this model year. The American carmaker has introduced a new option of a 10-speed automatic gearbox for the performance oriented Camaro.

With this new auto box, General Motors claims that Camaro ZL1 1LE has become a few seconds faster at the Nurburgring race track with the new calibration compared to the 6-speed manual gearbox of the outgoing model. Some of the new mechanical changes include tweaked transmission, electronic limited slip differential and performance traction management.

They have also recalibrated the adaptive Multimatic DSSV dampers and there is a new oil pan and an extra cooling duct for the steering gear. To save the weight, the 1LE package comes with carbon rear wing, air deflectors, dive planes, lightweight forged aluminum wheels, thinner rear glass and a fixed-back rear seat.

Powering the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is the same 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces a maximum power output of 650 HP with a peak torque of 881 Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
