Hyundai has released teaser images of the upcoming Tucson N Line, the brand’s first SUV to receive such treatment. The N Line is basically a treatment that Hyundai gives to a particular car from its stable in order to enhance its sporty appeal.
The pictures released by Hyundai don’t reveal much about the car, however, it can be seen that the Tucson N Line will get a new front fascia with model-specific daytime-running LED lights, a chrome front grille and larger dark alloy wheels for the exterior. The interior will also get its own N Line detailing, that will include plenty of contrast stitching, leather upholstery and N-branded steering wheel and gear lever among others. Hyundai is also expected to add more safety features as standard to the new Tucson N Line.
The new Tucson N Line will be available with the existing powertrain options which include two petrol and two diesel options, as well as the new 48-volt mild hybrid 2.0-litre diesel version. However, Hyundai will upgrade the SUV’s chassis by offering better suspension and brakes for a sportier feel.
Hyundai is the first carmaker to offer a hybrid diesel option in this segment. The setup produces 182 HP of peak power and 400 Nm of torque and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai is also set to add another hybrid powertrain option to the Tucson’s range that will be based on a 1.6-litre diesel engine.
Hyundai has also been working on a full-fledged performance variant of the Tucson N variant that might develop power north of 300 HP. It is expected to be introduced in 2020 and will compete with the Cupra Ateca in the market.
