2020 Force Gurkha was recently spied again on Indian road ahead of its expected launch. With the launch of Mahindra Thar in the Indian market this month, Force Motors is looking to accelerate their plans of launching the New-Gen Gurkha really soon. Thanks to our friends at Team-BHP, we have come across images of the New Gurkha testing in Pune. The Next-Gen Force Gurkha was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo earlier this year in February. A couple of months back, the Indian automaker had released a teaser image of the production version of the SUV on their Facebook page. The upcoming Force Gurkha is expected to be priced in the range of Rs10 - Rs14 lakhs (ex-showroom), India with its direct rival being the 2020 Mahindra Thar.
From these spy shots, we can see a resemblance between the test mule and the unveiled vehicle at the Auto Expo in aspects of its design and style. If we go by the images, the spied Force Gurkha appears to be a lower-end variant. Thus it featured steel rims, halogen headlamps and openable side windows at the rear. What we can also see here is that the vehicle was equipped with emission testing equipment mostly bolted / stuck on to the exterior part of the SUV.
This is not the first time that we are coming across a set of spy shots pertaining to the Gurkha. In fact, putting both current and previous shots together, one can safely say that the New Force Gurkha will stand to provide circular LED headlights, single-slat grille, fender-mounted turn indicators, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rack among others. If we compare the New-Generation Force Gurkha to the outgoing model, then there are new front & rear bumpers along with a pair of newly designed taillights.
Moving on to the interior, it will cater to a dual-tone colour scheme with features like a new touchscreen infotainment system, analogue instrument cluster, power front windows, circular AC vents among many others. Talking about performance, the 2020 Force Gurkha will be powered by a BS6 compliant 2.6-litre diesel engine. The diesel unit will deliver around 89 bhp of maximum power output and 260 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The SUV in all likely hood will offer a 4 wheel drive system to give more off-roading capabilities to the vehicle.
