2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift vs Old - Detailed Comparison.

Hyundai Verna continues to be one of the top-selling C-segment sedans in the country. The previous generation Hyundai Verna came loaded with a plethora of features. However, Hyundai launched India’s first fully connected mid-size sedan, Verna Facelift in the India market recently. The mid-sized sedan comes with several aggressive updates to the exterior, a plethora of segment-first interior features and BS6 compliant powertrains.

2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift vs Old: Price in India

The 2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift is priced in the range of Rs 9.31 lakhs - Rs 13.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). 

While the previous generation Verna was priced between Rs 9.33 lakhs - Rs 13.01 lakhs (ex-showroom).


2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift vs Old: Exterior Updates

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift comes with a fresh look thus making it more appealing to the prospective customers. The front fascia features LED headlamps, new signature cascading grille with darkened chrome surroundings and revamped fog lamps. It also has a tweaked bumper with redesigned air intake which has been positioned a tad lower. Riding on newly-designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, the rear end boasts of a revised LED tail-lamp cluster. The inclusion of a new bumper with faux diffuser and full-width chrome trim sum up the exterior updates. The Turbo trim takes the sportiness quotient even higher with the inclusion of grey-coloured 16-inch alloy wheels, twin-tip exhaust outlet and a gloss black finish front grille.

While the previous generation Hyundai Verna got a coupe-like roofline. The front fascia featured a cascading grille with chrome lines, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, chrome door handles and a chrome boot lip. The faux skid plate in the front and the rear gave it a sporty look. The side profile catered to 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear end got LED taillamps that extended itself to the boot and black inserts on the rear bumper. The top-spec version of the car featured a sharp-fin antenna. 

2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift vs Old: Interior Updates

The interior of 2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift gets an upholstery with colour-combination options. Compared to previous generation Verna, it features a dashboard with faux wood trim along with new AC vents inspired from the Second-Generation Creta. The main highlight of the new sedan is a slimmer control panel with an 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system which is integrated with a Blue Link connectivity suite with 45+ features. It also offers a new digital instrument cluster which consists of a 4.2-inch multi-information display, tachometer and speedometer. Other highlighted equipment on-board include front ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, hands-free boot opening, and Arkamys sound system. The Turbo trim gets finished in an exclusive all-black upholstery with red accents and paddle shifters as part of the standard fitment. 

On the other hand, the previous generation Verna came packed with a host of features. These included a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple car Play and Android Auto, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, cruise control, smart trunk and rear parking camera with sensors. 

2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift vs Old: Engine Specifications

2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift gets major changes under the hood. It comes with three BS6 compliant engines. First is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox. While the diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre engine compatible with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. There is also a high-performance 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol engine on offer which comes equipped with a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Meanwhile the previous generation Verna was offered with three BS4 engine options. A 1.6-litre petrol that produced 121 bhp power and 151 Nm torque. The diesel variant was powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine that churned out 126 bhp power and 260 Nm torque and a 1.4-litre diesel powertrain that delivered 89 bhp power with 220 Nm of peak torque. Transmissions on offer were a 6-speed automatic torque converter and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift comes packed with safety features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing door locks, high-speed warning and seat belt reminder. Hyundai Verna facelift is offered in six exterior colour options: Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Phantom Black, Polar White and Typhoon Silver. 

The previous generation Verna offered safety features like front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing door lock, and front seat-belts with pre-tensioners. 2019 Hyundai Verna was offered with seven exterior colour options namely Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Typhoon Silver, Alpha Blue, Polar White, Starry Night and Thunder Black.
