Jaguar has revealed the facelifted XE that comes with substantial changes

Jaguar has unveiled the 2020 XE. The new XE looks more aggressive than its predecessor with the inclusion of a sportier front bumper that features larger air intakes. The car also gets new LED headlights which have the signature ‘J’ blade accent. At the rear, Jaguar has given the car slimmer LED taillights while minor changes on the rear bumper make it that bit sportier.

Customers can also get themselves the R-Dynamic variant for an even more aggressive experience. It features dark mesh accents and special wheels while the interiors get sport seats, contrast stitching and “R-Dynamic” sill plates.

The interior of the XE has also been improved with Jaguar claiming that ‘Every aspect of the cabin has been enhanced for increased convenience, improved stowage and better passenger comfort.’ It gets a new steering wheel and an available Touch Pro Duo infotainment system which features a lower 5.5-inch touchscreen display. Other equipment on offer include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a new ClearSight rearview camera mirror that provides drivers with an ‘unobstructed view of the road behind’, a wireless smartphone charger and a SportShift gear selector sourced from the F-Type. The new XE also gets a unique feature called ‘Smart Settings technology’ that uses artificial intelligence to learn the preferences of individual drivers and adjusts seat, mirror, audio and climate settings automatically.

Customers in the United States and Europe can get the new XE with a host of engine options like the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that produces 250 PS, the XE D180 with a diesel engine that produces 180 PS of power and 430 Nm of torque and the XE R-Dynamic S with standard all-wheel drive system and upgraded four-cylinder producing 300 PS.

It is expected that Jaguar will carry forward the current engine options available once the new XE is launched in India later this year. Jaguar currently offers a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 180 PS of power, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine in two states of tune offering 200 PS or 240 PS.
