2020 KTM 250 Duke comes with a new LED headlight while delivering a top power of 29.6bhp

KTM 250 Duke BS6 was spotted arriving at selected dealerships in the country. Earlier this month, it was launched in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 2.09 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India). The motorcycle is retailed in two colour schemes - Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic. The all-new 250 Duke is Rs 3,968 costlier than the outgoing version while being the most expensive model in the quarter-litre segment in the Indian market. The biggest talking point of  KTM 250 Duke is the addition of a full-LED headlight which was earlier seen in KTM 390 Duke. Both the motorcycles look similar from the front. KTM 250 Duke competitors in the Indian market are Yamaha FZS 25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250.

The 250 Duke comes with a new LED headlight replacing the older model’s halogen sunlight. The Supermoto ABS mode debuts in the bike, thus making it the third Duke model to feature this tech after 390 Adventure and 390 Duke. The Supermoto ABS mode disables rear-wheel ABS while the front wheel ABS functions as usual. Rest, all the other features are retained from the older model. The new LED headlamp is the only design update in the bike. KTM 250 Duke also comes with contactless cranking which helps the rider in employing one-touch start (early cold start) functionality.

KTM 250 Duke is powered by the BS6 compliant 248.8cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The same engine powered the outgoing model, barring the electronic fuel injection technology. The bike delivers 29.6 bhp of top power and 24 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed unit. If we talk about the hardware components, twin USD forks at the front and monoshocks at the rear handle the suspension duties. Twin discs of size 300mm and 200mm at front and rear take care of the braking duties. Dual-Channel ABS is also present as standard feature. KTM 250 Duke weighs 169 kg with a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.
