2020 Mahindra Thar gets the maximum number of bookings for the automatic variants

Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the second-generation Thar in the Indian market on October 2, 2020. The legendary SUV has crossed 15,000 bookings today since its launch. The 2020 Mahindra Thar automatic variants have received the maximum number of bookings till date. Also, 57 percent of the buyers of the 2020 Thar are first-time car buyers.

Ever since its launch, the Thar has garnered over 65,000 inquiries along with more than 8 lakh website visitors. Mahindra had introduced the all-new Thar in two trims - AX and LX. Mahindra Thar AX price starts at Rs 9.80 Lakhs (ex-showroom) while the price of the LX range starts at Rs 12.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Dimensionally, it is longer and wider in size as compared to its predecessor. 


Under the bonnet, the new Thar is offered with two engine options. The petrol variants are powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion engine that generates a maximum power of 150 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The diesel variants are powered by a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder CRDi unit that churns out 130 bhp power and 320 Nm torque. Both the engines are available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option.
