The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Now, we have learnt that it will be unveiled next month, i.e. November 2020 while it goes on sale by early next year in the Indian market. Several reports have indicated that the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will have its premiere at the Guangzhou international automobile exhibition which will be held in China next month. Recently, the company had introduced the Compass Night Eagle limited edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 20.14 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
Being a mid-cycle facelift, it will come with subtle cosmetic updates while retaining the same silhouette as the present model. Though, it will flaunt several visual modifications in the form of sleek LED headlamps, restyled front grille, and revamped bumpers at the front and rear. The Compass facelift will ride on newly-designed alloy wheels. The cabin will boast of an all-new steering wheel while the overall plastic quality including the dashboard and upholstery will also be improved. In addition, there will also be a bigger and advanced 10.1-inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa voice command. A few other features present will be full-digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and wireless charging.
Mechanically, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift is expected to come with the same set of BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. Though, the global model will get a new 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine with two tunes of power output - 130bhp and 150bhp. But, it is yet not certain if this engine will make it to the India-spec model of the SUV. In fact, Jeep is also said to be introducing a plug-in hybrid variant of the facelifted model for the various international markets with two states of power output: 190bhp and 240bhp. The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift price is expected to be a bit higher than the current range while it will take on the likes of Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta in the Indian market.
