The upcoming motorcycle will come in 2 variants namely Super Adventure R and Super Adventure S.

On India's 72nd Republic Day tomorrow, KTM Motorcycles will be globally unveiling the 1290 Adventure. The Austrian manufacturer had released a teaser on their social media channel with the tagline “The World Gets Smaller”. This indicated towards an adventure motorcycle introduction.

Further according to rumors and a couple of media reports the new bike likely to be showcased could be the KTM 1290 Adventure. The top-of-the-line motorcycle model page had gone live briefly on the manufacturer’s website before being taken down. The motorcycle is unveiling on the same day as the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS which is also going to be showcased.

The adventure motorcycle will come in 2 variants namely Super Adventure R and Super Adventure S. 2021 KTM 1290 Adventure uses chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame which is a combination of laser-cut tubes and forged elements. Further, the engine's position is shifted forward within the frame while the steering head goes backwards. Its swingarm length has been extended more in comparison to the older iteration. On the R variant, the swingarm is lower by 0.4 inches, while on the S, it is adjustable from 33.4 to 34.2 inches.

The most exciting addition is the radar-equipped adaptive cruise control technology on the S variant. This feature is already coming in its rival Ducati Multistrada V4. The R variant rides on tubeless wire-spoke wheels while the S offers alloys with MITAS Terra Force-R tyres. The brake and suspension system are carried over from the older 1290 Adventure model. The instrument cluster display is increased by half-inch to now 7 inches.

In November last year, a patent surfaced on the internet which hinted that the Super Adventure would come equipped with an underslung fuel tank. Moving on to-engine, the KTM Super Adventure will be powered by 1290cc V-twin powertrain. The bike is expected to deliver a power output of 158 bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque. Also, there are chances of the engine coming with two catalytic converters, twin radiator, and a revamped exhaust.
