It continues to be powered a 1,301cc V-twin motor with new features. It will compete against the likes of Ducati Multistrada V4 and BMW R 1250 GS in the Adventure bike segment globally. As per the press release, the new-gen KTM 1290 Super Adventure S will be available at KTM dealers internationally (excluding North America) from March 2021. There are no details out regarding India launch but we can expect it to arrive in the second half of 2021.

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S comes with a chassis which helps in even weight distribution and improved riding agility. The bike cornering performance is improved by moving the steering head back by 15 mm while re-locating the engine’s front section. Also, the longer open-lattice swingarm gives more stability to the bike during acceleration. Further, the subframe is improved to offer a lower seat height for the rider. There is a new 23-litre, keyless-cap fuel tank. It comes in 5 riding modes namely Rain, Street, Sport, Off-road and optional Rally. The biggest introduction is that off the innovative Adaptive Cruise Control system which is now standard for the 2021 model.

The riding experience is accentuated with the brand new 7-inch TFT display that also offers smartphone connectivity. The larger dashboard view has quicker and more practical menu systems as well as clear aesthetic infographics to clearly indicate various sections of the bike. The dash sits on top of a redesigned storage department with a USB charging socket. The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S comes with all-new switches on both sides of the handlebar offering more seamless user experience. A new set of quick select and favourites buttons will allow for changing driving modes on the fly.

The adventure motorcycle is powered by a Euro 5 / BS6 compliant 1,301cc V-twin engine. The bike delivers 160 bhp of maximum power output and 138 Nm of peak torque. Cornering ABS and Offroad ABS systems are offered as standard while Motor Slip Regulation is optional. Talking about the engine, it stands to provide reworked pistons that improve reliability while better cooling is achieved thanks to a new water/oil system. The manufacturer claims service intervals of 15,000 kms while low fuel consumption with the New 1290 Super Adventure S.
