The 2021 Mahindra TUV300 facelift would be renamed as 'Bolero Neo'

Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the 2021 TUV300 facelift in the Indian market. However, ahead of the official launch, the new SUV has been spotted without any camouflage during its TVC shoot in Malshej Ghat, Maharashtra. The rumor mill also states that the 2021 Mahindra TUV300 facelift would be renamed as 'Bolero Neo'. The company had discontinued the TUV300 in mid 2020 by removing it from the official website and even the monthly sales numbers in the second half of the last year showed that zero units were sold in the domestic market.

Mahindra has decided to rename the 2021 TUV300 facelift as 'Bolero Neo' to cash on the huge popularity that Bolero nameplate enjoys in the rural circuits. Needless to say, it has been around for nearly two decades now and has been one of the company's best-selling models. Hence, this unmatched legacy and trust that Bolero nameplate commands might be the most prominent reason behind renaming the TUV300 facelift. Going by the spy-images, the front fascia flaunts a restyled grille with six vertical slats while the tweaked bumper houses honeycomb-shaped air inlets. The fog lamp units have been positioned in a horizontal manner in a black housing. The flat bonnet is flanked by a faux skid plate.

Coming to the side profile, the 2021 Mahindra TUV300 facelift gets squared wheel arches with decent wheel size. The rear end too witnesses several key changes such as redesigned LED tail lamp cluster, repositioned trunk handle and a roof-mounted spoiler. We do not have any cabin images with us but it is believed that the new SUV will boast of a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Under the hood, it will have a BS6 compliant 1.5L diesel engine which will generate top power of 100bhp and peak torque of 240Nm while paired to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. There is no word on the introduction of an AMT gearbox or a 4x4 drive system with the SUV.
