The arrival of 2021 Mahindra XUV500 has been one of the most anticipated launches since the SUV has been under development for more than 2 years now. Its expected introduction is supposed to take place in the first quarter of 2021. Over the past several months, we have come across many test mules being driven around on Indian roads. However in this most recent update thanks to our friends at team-BHP, we have got hold of some new images of the upcoming New Mahindra XUV500. These images reveal quite a few exterior design details of the SUV.

Under heavy camouflage, what we can see from these pictures are that the SUV will provide a refreshed front end. To begin it will feature a new grille design and LED headlamps with DRL's. On the sides, it will stand to provide diamond cut alloy wheels. While the rear will cater to a revamped tailgate offering refreshed taillights and a bumper. As for the interior, one can expect plenty of segment-first features. Though what we know as of now from some of the earlier spied images is that the 2021 XUV500 could get a new cabin layout in an all-black theme. Further elements like a flat-bottom steering wheel, wider touchscreen infotainment system, new fabric upholstery, ventilated seats, a wireless charger could also find their way into the new SUV.

Under the hood, expect the reconfigured 2.2-litre m-Hawk diesel engine that currently powers the 2020 Mahindra Thar. The engine will deliver a power output of around 190 bhp. Transmission options offered here would include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. There is a strong chance that Mahindra & Mahindra could also introduce a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine to the product line-up. Here the petrol engine is expected to offer 190 bhp of power output with the same transmission options as the diesel model with a possibility of all-wheel-drive (AWD).
