Once launched, Mercedes-Benz C-Class will rival the likes of Jaguar XE, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 in the Indian market

All-New Mercedes-Benz C-Class global unveil is all set to take place on February 23, 2021. Ahead of its global premiere, the premium sedan’s leaked images have surfaced on the internet. Going by these pictures, one can say that the upcoming car looks to be inspired by Mercedes Benz S-Class. Be it the exterior design or the interior layout, the German manufacturer has certainly looked to the flagship S-Class for inspiration.

The upcoming C-Class sedan is compact while the silhouette will remind readers of the S-Class. There are no talks on the C-Class launch in India, but we can expect it to arrive by the end of this year. Once launched, Mercedes-Benz C-Class will rival the likes of Jaguar XE, BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 in the Indian market.

Moving to the design, the C-Class sports a completely new look. Its sharper looking front profile boasts of a new bumper, a bigger radiator grille and sleeker headlights. At the rear, one can look forward to horizontal tail lamps. The new design is similar to the latest generation of the A-Class, E-Class and CLA models.

Talking about the interior, it gets an update as the infotainment system features a major revamp to accommodate the second-generation MBUX software. The manufacturer has swapped the current model’s horizontal central display for a vertical unit which will be housed between the front seats. In addition, the rotary controller and physical gear shifter are not present in the upcoming C-Class sedan. It is believed that most likely, these functions could come integrated either within the touchscreen unit or the steering wheel.

Further, taking its premium appeal to a new level is the presence of a new free-standing fully digital instrument display in this new model. Additionally, there is a new design for the air vents plus a colour head-up display.

As revealed earlier, the C-Class has been redesigned from scratch with new efficient hybrid powertrains and advanced autonomous driving technology. The 5-Generation premium sedan is based on Mercedes’ MRA platform. It will be sold with a range of mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine options. The four-wheeler is expected to come equipped with level 3 autonomous technology, including a new Drive Pilot function.

Speaking about Drive Pilot functionality, it will offer hands-free driving up to the speed of 129 kmph. Further, the new model will come loaded with self-parking capabilities. This technology is born out of a collaboration between Mercedes Benz and Bosch. What it does is that it allows the user to park his or her own vehicle in a confined space via the use of an app on their smartphone.
