Mercedes Benz India has launched the E-Class LWB in the country. The starting price stands at Rs 63.60 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The price goes as high as Rs 80.90 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end E 350d variant. Besides China, India is the only market where the E-Class is sold in LWB form. The saloon is offered in three variants - Expression, Exclusive, and the soon-to-be-launched AMG (E 350d) line. Bookings for the same have commenced. Interested buyers can get the new E-Class booked at the Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
In terms of design, the Mercedes E-Class gets minor changes which brings it more in-line with the new-generation S-Class. Upfront, the sedan gets an ‘A’ shaped grille and flatter LED headlamps. The rear end boasts of slimmer LED tail-lights, a redesigned bumper, and a new boot lid. The 17-inch 5-twin spoke wheels are available with E 200 and E 220d while the E 350d comes with18-inch AMG double-spoke wheels.
Moving inside the cabin of the new E-Class, it gets Trapeze blue interiors along with beige. The feature highlight is the Mercedes MBUX system with a ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant. Besides these, it also gets a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, Nappa leather steering wheel, rear reclining seats, and wireless charging ports. The E-Class also features a detachable tablet in the rear armrest that further controls the ambient lightning, infotainment system, and AC. The safety kit comprises of 7 airbags, active brake assist, ABS with EBD, ESP, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and active parking assist with Park Tronic among many others.
The new E-Class has been introduced in three new exterior color options - Designo Hyacinth red, High tech silver, and Mojave Silver. Apart from these, the existing color options include - Polar White, Obsidian Black, and Selenite Grey. The E-Class comes with a 3-year standard warranty.
The 2021 Mercedes Benz E-Class houses the same set of engine options as its predecessor. There is a 2.0-litre, in-line, four-cylinder gasoline unit that churns out 195 bhp power and 320 Nm peak torque. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel motor dishes out a maximum power of 193 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. There is also a 3.0-litre in-line, 6-cylinder diesel engine that generates 285 bhp power and 600 Nm peak torque. Furthermore, the new E-Class comes with air body control as standard.
