All-New Tata Safari is all set to launch tomorrow in the Indian market

Tata Motors will be launching the iconic All-New Safari tomorrow in the Indian market. The homegrown automaker has already rolled out the first unit of the SUV from its assembly line out of the production facility based in Pune. Bookings for the SUV have already commenced as it has started reaching dealerships across the country. Meanwhile, ahead of the official launch, spy images of the exterior and interior design have also emerged online. As for the price, we can expect it to be around Rs 15 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The all-new SUV is a derivative of the Tata Harrier that is currently on sale in India. Design-wise, the 2021 Safari will feature Tata Motor’s Impact 2.0 Design philosophy. It will be based on the OMEGARC platform. Upfront, it will get a honeycomb mesh grille with a tri-arrow setup. Other design bits will include a sculpted tailgate, stepped roof, a new set of alloy wheels, and running boards. In terms of dimensions, the SUV will get a taller stance in comparison to the Harrier. The rest of the design elements will remain identical to that off the 5-seater SUV.

The cabin of the 2021 Safari will boast Oyster White interiors along with an Ashwood dashboard. In addition, it will provide two seating configurations: a 6-seater with captain seats for the middle row and a 7-seater with a bench seat right in the middle. Feature highlights here will include an 8.8-inch infotainment system that will come with an embedded sim. It will further cater to connected features like remote lock/unlock, remote lights on/off, remote control of headlights & horn, find my car, location-based services like geo-fencing and valet mode. The top-end variants will get a panoramic sunroof, rear disk brakes, and an electronic parking brake as standard.

Under the bonnet, the 2021 Tata Safari will house a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The engine will churn out a maximum power output of 168 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Transmission options on offer would include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
