The compact sedan is powered by an 85hp petrol and a 70hp diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Tata’s third compact sedan, the Tigor, is now on sale at a starting price of ₹4.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tigor is based on the Tiago, so it shares much of its parts with its hatchback sibling but rather slap on a traditional boot, Tata has very neatly integrated the boot in what the company refers to as a ‘Styleback’. The result is a more coupé-like roofline and redesigned new rear doors to accommodate the new boot neatly. The Tigor’s wheelbase is also 50mm longer, and at 419 litres, the sedan has the biggest boot in its segment.

The cabin resembles the Tiago hatch but with a few minor tweaks. The rear seat is lower so that there’s more headroom and the backrest is more reclined than in the hatch. The Tigor also gets a rear centre armrest with integrated cupholders, the Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment system from newer Tata models, a new auto climate control system and a reverse camera. Additionally, petrol cars come with diamond cut 15-inch alloy wheels on the top trim, while the diesel car uses the same 14-inch alloy wheels as the Tigor. The same 85hp, 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol motor and the 70hp 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine paired to a five-speed manual gearbox that are on the Tiago power this compact sedan. The company is expected to add an AMT option sometime in the future.
