Porsche India launched the 2021 Panamera saloon in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 1.45 Crores (ex-showroom, India). The 2021 Porsche Panamera will retail in four variants namely Standard, GTS, Turbo S, and Turbo S E-hybrid. The latter two are the new entrants to the Panamera line-up in the country. The top-end Turbo S E-hybrid variant would set the Indian buyers back by Rs 2.43 Crores (ex-showroom, India). The biggest change is the swapping of the Turbo variant in the Panamera line-up with a new Turbo S variant.
The 2021 Porsche Panamera comes with minor design updates to distinguish it from the predecessor. The new model is sharper-looking at the front and sportier in appearance. Additionally, the entire Panamera line-up flaunts new Sport Design at the front end which was optional in the earlier models. Also, the new front fascia boasts of design elements like new grille, revamped headlights and larger side air vents. At the rear, one can look forward to the LED tail lamps running across the width with Porsche letters embedded. Turbo-S variant can be differentiated from others due to the inclusion of larger side air intakes and twin front headlights. On the other hand, the Panamera GTS premium quotient is enhanced thanks to the addition of an all-black tail lamp cluster.
The 2021 Porsche Panamera boasts of new features like a revamped Porsche Communication Management (PCM), support for wireless Apple CarPlay, Park Assists with Surround View, heads-up display and LED matrix headlights with PDLS plus among others. The suspension system is more improved thanks to the reworked Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) unit.
The standard Panamera saloon is powered by the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. The sedan now delivers 326bhp of maximum power output and 450Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the top-end Panamera GTS is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine with 473bhp of power and 620Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line Turbo SE Hybrid is the most powerful in the Panemera line-up. It houses a powerful V8 biturbo engine in combination with an electric motor. The hybrid engine delivers out 552 bhp of maximum power output and 750 Nm of peak torque. The electric motor derives power from a new 17.9 kWh battery which adds further 59 kilometre of range in the dedicated full-electric mode. The transmission duties in all the variants are handled by Porsche's 8-speed dual-clutch automatic or PDK gearbox.
