The motorcycle will be available for bookings and test rides from today itself

Royal Enfield has launched the 2021 Himalayan at a starting price of Rs 2.01 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Chennai) in the Indian market. The motorcycle will be available for bookings and test rides from today itself at all the company authorized dealerships across the country. The 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan has been introduced in three new color schemes namely Granite Black (mix of matte and gloss), Mirage Silver and Pine Green while the existing paint shades - Rock Red, Lake Blue and Gravel Grey - will continue as well. The new model is around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the outgoing version of the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield is also offering the Make It Yours (MiY) personalization program with the new touring motorcycle across all channels - the RE App, the website and at dealerships. The MiY initiative also covers a host of accessories which includes touring mirror kit, comfort seats, handlebar brace and pad, aluminium panniers and mounting kits. The new iteration of tourer also gets the Royal Enfield Tripper with real-time directions and turn-by-turn navigation pod. Built with Google Maps platform, it can be paired with the Royal Enfield App to the rider’s smartphone. This Tripper navigation unit debuted with the Meteor 350 last year. However, it doesn't carry the functionality of displaying incoming calls and messages.

The company has carried out updates in the seat, rear carrier and front rack while also equipping it with a new windscreen. It has particularly worked on improving the seat cushioning in order to offer extra comfort to the rider during long journeys. The rear carrier comes with an additional plate to secure the luggage while its height has been reduced so that riders can mount the motorcycle without much effort. The company has introduced a new front rack which is leaner and ergonomically sound. Being firstly launched nearly five years back in 2016, the new version of Himalayan goes on sale from today not just in India but also in Europe and UK simultaneously.
