Tata Motors has finally re-introduced the Tiago NRG in the facelifted guise at a starting price of Rs 6,57,400/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the manual version. The price goes as high as Rs 7,09,400/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the AMT version.
The highlights update on the 2021 Tiago NRG is the sharper headlamps and grille design that has been borrowed from the Tiago facelift launched last year. Moving on, the hatch gets the body cladding over the wheel arches and on the lower section of the body. The door handles, roof, D-pillars, and wing mirrors are finished in black. On the sides, the new NRG is seen flaunting 15-inch hyper-style wheels. The front and rear bumper have been redesigned to make it look a bit beefier. Other design bits include silver faux skid plates, faux roof rails, and the thick plastic trim on the tailgate with the NRG badge.
Moving inside the cabin, the new Tiago NRG boasts of new charcoal black interiors. The dashboard layout remains identical to the standard Tiago. Feature-wise, it gets a height-adjustable driver seat, push-button start, digital instrument cluster, 8 speaker surround system by Harman, rear parking camera, new charcoal black interiors, seat-mounted controls, power-folding wing mirrors, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. However, it does miss out on automatic climate control that is offered as a standard feature on the Tiago. The hatchback also comes equipped with a new design for the fabric seat upholstery. The safety kit consists of dual airbags, a day-night rear-view mirror, ABS, and rear parking sensors.
Performance-wise, the new Tiago NRG is powered by the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that does the duty on the standard version of the hatchback. The motor churns out a top power of 85 bhp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 3300 rpm. Transmission duty is handled by a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.
The new hatchback will be offered in a total of four color options namely Foresta Green, Snow White, Fire Red, and Cloudy Grey. The new hatchback will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Santro, Maruti WagonR, and Datsun Go.
