Triumph also unveiled a limited-edition in the form of Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen

Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the 2021 Scrambler 1200 XC and XE today. In addition, a  special Steve McQueen Edition has also been revealed. It will be limited to only 1000 units across the world. The bikes will be launched in the global market anytime soon. As for the India launch, we can expect the company to get the Steve McQueen Limited Edition. No such information regarding the introduction of the Scrambler 1200 range in the domestic market has been divulged yet.

Design-wise, the 2021 Scrambler 1200 range remains unchanged. Both bikes feature an LED headlamp with LED DRLs, LED indicators, LED tail lamp, wide-set handlebars, sculpted side panel with brushed aluminium Scrambler 1200 badge, and aluminium mudguards & bash plate. Furthermore, it also comes with 6 riding modes - Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road, Off-Road Pro (Present on XE only), and Rider Configurable.

In terms of features, the new Scrambler 1200 range features the full-color TFT instruments. They will further offer two different design themes, each with three display layout options, thereby allowing the riders to alter the amount of information shown as per their preferences. The multi-functional TFT display is operated via the intuitive and easily accessible handlebar-mounted 5-way joystick and other switches. Both motorcycles are also pre-enabled for the accessory-fit My Triumph connectivity system which allows the rider to access phone calls, use turn-by-turn navigation, operate music, and many more. The new Scrambler 1200 XC and XE will be offered in two dual-tone color schemes - Cobalt Blue with a Jet Black stripe & Matt Khaki Green with a Jet Black stripe and one single tone color - Sapphire Black.

The Steve McQueen Edition is offered in a bespoke Competition Green color with Steve McQueen branding on the tank and the handlebar clamp. This special edition is based on the Scrambler 1200 XE. In comparison to the standard 1200 XE, this edition comes with extra crash protection which includes engine protection dresser bars that further cover the clutch and alternator covers. Other features include a brown bench seat and a pressed aluminium radiator guard. It will feature a badge that will display which of the 1000 units the bike it is. Besides this, the buyer will get a certificate of authenticity duly signed by Triumph’s CEO, Nick Bloor, and Chad McQueen (son of Steve McQueen).

Performance-wise, the 2021 Scrambler 1200 range gets a 1200cc 8-valve parallel-twin engine that has been upgraded to meet the BS6 emission norms. The unit churns out 90 bhp power at 7250 rpm and 110 Nm torque at 4500 rpm. Furthermore, the bike also gets a revised exhaust system that has been tweaked a bit for better heat dissipation. Both bikes sit on tubular steel with aluminium cradle frame. Talking about the suspensions, the XC variant gets 45mm fully adjustable Showa USDs on the front and a fully adjustable Ohlins twin shock towards the rear end. The XE variant, on the other hand, features a 47mm fully adjustable Showa USDs upfront and fully adjustable Ohlins twin shock at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by Brembo M50 monobloc calipers mounted on 320mm discs at the front and a Brembo caliper on a single disc at the rear.
