2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Launched at Rs 31.99 Lakhs

Volkswagen India has launched the new Tiguan SUV at a starting price of Rs 31.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. Being locally assembled at the Aurangabad facility, it is based on the globally renowned MQB platform while offered in a single fully-loaded ‘Elegance’ variant. The new Volkswagen Tiguan bookings are underway with deliveries expected to start from mid-January 2022 onwards. Prospective customers can test drive the SUV starting December 10, 2021 in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Pune to be soon followed by other cities.


The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan flaunts LED matrix headlights with IQ. light, broad radiator grille with VW logo in centre and muscular bumper with piano black finish inserts. It is also equipped with advanced front lighting system (AFS) which comes with range control, cornering light and poor weather light adjustment. Riding on 18-inch Frankfurt design alloy wheels, the new Volkswagen Tiguan is presented with dark LED combination tail lamps at the rear. The tail-lamp cluster also gets a switch function for the LEDs when braking, the “click-clack” effect. The SUV boasts of a rough road package (Sidecladding) which can be availed at an additional cost. It is available in seven exterior colors namely Nightshade Blue, Pure White, Oryx White with Pearl effect, Deep Black, Dolphin Gray, Reflex Silver and Kings Red.


The 2021 Tiguan is offered with multi-function display and 25.4 cm customizable digital cockpit as standard while other notable features include illuminated scuff plates, USB C-ports, Vienna leather seats, soft touch dashboard, 30 multicolor ambient lights, flat bottom multi-function steering wheel, a three zone Climatronic air-conditioning system with touch control, panoramic sunroof and 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control and My Volkswagen Connect App. A special mention goes to the advanced reverse camera which gives four different views to the driver. The SUV has a boot capacity of 615 litres while boot can be opened and closed easily.

As for safety, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan comes with a myriad of modern features such as six airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), anti-slip regulation (ASR), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), hill-start assist, hill descent control, engine drag torque control (EDTC), active TPMS, 3 head-rests at rear, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX x2 and driver alert systems. Under the bonnet, it has a 2.0L TSI petrol engine which develops top power of 187 bhp between 4200-6000 rpm and peak torque of 320 Nm between 1500-4100 rpm. The engine is linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission with 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system as standard fitment. With the launch of the new Tiguan, Volkswagen India has fulfilled its commitment of launching four SUVs by end of 2021.
