Volvo Cars India launched its flagship luxury SUV - XC90 with a new petrol mild-hybrid engine at Rs 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch of this new SUV basically completes the brand’s commitment to transition from diesel to petrol cars followed by reducing the company’s carbon footprint in the global market. Furthermore, this is the first car to be launched on the Scalable Product Architecture(SPA).
The cabin of the new Volvo XC90 boasts of a luxury mobility environment coupled up with a blend of high-end materials such as crystal, wood, and metal in a sophisticated Scandinavian design. The seven-seater luxury SUV comes equipped with a plethora of features. These include an intuitive touchscreen interface that combines car functions, connected services, in-car entertainment applications, and navigation. Besides this, the vehicle also gets the latest Advanced Air Cleaner technology which comes with a sensor to measure PM 2.5 levels inside the cabin. In terms of color options, the new XC90 will be offered in Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Pine Grey, and Onyx Black. Other feature highlights include heated front seats, massage function in the front seats, and premium sound by Bowers & Wilkins. The safety kit comprises adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, pilot assist, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, collision mitigation support for both front & rear, collision warning, a 360-degree camera, and park assist pilot.

Performance-wise, the Volvo XC90 gets a 1969 cc mild-hybrid petrol engine that churns out a top power of 299 bhp and a peak torque of 420 Nm. The motor further comes mated to an 8-speed AWD automatic gearbox.
Volvo is offering a 3 years Volvo Service Package with the new XC90 at a special price of Rs 75000/- plus applicable taxes. Furthermore, this is an introductory offer that is valid during the festive season. The package further includes regular maintenance along with wear & tear costs over three years.
