Yamaha Motor India has launched the fourth iteration of its flagship supersport motorcycle - the YZF-R15 Version 4. The price starts from Rs 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom). Followed by the introduction of YZF R15 M. The 2021 range of YZF R15 comes equipped with a host of segment-first features. The model range is all set to reach the company’s dealership across India by the end of this month. However, the online bookings start from today onwards.
Design-wise, the 2021 YZF R15 range flaunts horizontal lines similar to the one present on the YZF R1. Design bits include a single bi‐functional Class-D LED headlight, an M-shaped intake duct, and a redesigned seat. With the latest generation change, the new bike gets a host of features. These include a traction control system, quick shifter, upside-down front fork, Bluetooth connectivity Yamaha Motorcycle Connect, and a new LCD instrument cluster inspired by YZF-R1 with Gear shift indicator, and Track & Street Mode. The bike further gets a newly designed Trip/Info button positioned on the right handlebar to toggle between display modes and the info shown. Besides these, other common features on the 2021 YZF-R15 range include Bypass type thermostat cooling system, a Deltabox frame, an A&S clutch, Linked-type Monocross rear suspension, Muffler with 3-stage expansion chamber, and Dual-Channel ABS. Features exclusive to YZF R15 M include carbon-like seat cover material (Rider & Pillion), an embroidered logo on the pillion seat, Golden colour Brake Calliper, and Anodized blue fork caps.

Performance-wise, The Yamaha YZF R-15 range is powered by a 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve unit that churns out a top power of 18.2 bhp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.2 Nm at 7500 rpm. The unit is further linked to a 6-speed gearbox.
Talking about the color options, the YZF R15 V4 is offered in Dark Knight, Racing Blue, and Metallic Red. While the R15 M will be available in Metallic Grey paint shade. Alongside this, the R15M Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition has also been launched. This special edition comes with MotoGP branding on the fuel tank, fairing, rear side panels, and front mudguard.
