The 2022 Kawasaki KLX450R comes with fresh decals and minor mechanical updates

Kawasaki India launched the 2022 KLX450R in the country at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Furthermore, the bike is Rs 50,000 more expensive than the model it replaces. The deliveries of the new bike are slated to begin in January 2022. Having said that, the new KLX450R will be brought to the country via the CBU route. The bike is offered in the Lime Green color option.


The yearly updated Kawasaki KLX450R gets fresh decals. The bike further gets subtle mechanical updates and tweaked suspension. Feature-wise, it gets an LED rear light, an electric starter, a Renthal aluminium handlebar, and a small fully digital instrument cluster wherein the rider can access features like a speedometer, dual tripmeters, odometers, & clock. 

Performance-wise, The new Kawasaki KLX450R is powered by a 449cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the motor has been tuned to deliver more low-end torque. It also comes equipped with double-valve springs and a low friction coating on piston skirts. Suspension duties are taken care of by a pair of 48mm USD forks with compression & rebound adjustability upfront and a mono set up that can also be adjusted for preload, rebound & compression towards the rear. In terms of the brakes, the bike gets petal-type discs at both ends.

Besides these, Kawasaki will be launching three new electric and hybrid bikes in the Indian market before the end of 2022. The motorcycle giant has claimed that it plans to convert the majority of its fleet to electric and hybrid by 2035.
