2022 Kawasaki Z650 RS Launched at Rs 6.65 Lakhs

Kawasaki India has launched the 2022 Z650 RS at a sticker price of Rs 6.65 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. To be offered in two color options namely Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Gray, Kawasaki Z650 RS comes with retro styling with modern design cues. The deliveries of the motorcycle will start from the end of November or beginning of December this year. As per the brand, the appearance of the 2022 Kawasaki Z650 RS will remind of the iconic “son of Z1” Z650-B1 which was launched in 1977.

Based on the lightweight trellis frame chassis, the 2022 Kawasaki Z650 RS will flaunt a round LED headlamp upfront. The other lights such as the indicators and tail lamps are also offered with LED units. Riding on spoke-style cast wheels, the bike boasts of a dual-dial instrumentation with multi-function LCD. The Candy Emerald Green color scheme comes with golden-finished alloy wheels while the Metallic Moondust Gray paint shade gets black alloy wheels. The overall design of the motorcycle is inspired from its elder sibling - the Z900 RS - with almost identical pinstriped square-ish fuel tank and side panels. The 2022 Kawasaki Z650 RS price is around Rs 41,000 more than the Z650.

Mechanically, the 2022 Kawasaki Z650 RS is powered by a BS6 compliant 649cc parallel-twin petrol engine which we have already seen with the Z650. The engine generates maximum power output of 68 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque performance of 64 Nm at 6,700 rpm. The suspension duties are carried by 41mm telescopic forks at front while there is a horizontal back-link rear suspension. As for braking, the bike comes with dual 300 mm disc units at the front and a single 220 mm unit at the rear. The 2022 Kawasaki Z650 RS will directly rival Triumph Trident 660 and Ducati Scrambler in the Indian market. It carries a premium of nearly Rs 4,000 over the Ninja 650.
