The exclusive interior image reveals all the updates made to the cabin including the features

Recently, the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift was spotted testing for the first time in the country. Now, our friends at AutoCar India have acquired an exclusive interior image of the upcoming hatchback which reveals all the updates made to the cabin including the features. The 2022 Maruti Baleno is expected to launch around February-March next year in the Indian market while it will rival Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. It will continue to carry the current set of petrol engines and transmissions.

Going by the spy image, it can be stated that the 2022 Maruti Baleno will get an all-new interior cabin. The new cabin will boast of a totally revamped dashboard which will house horizontally positioned AC vents in a V-shaped pattern. The centre console will get a free standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The spy shot indicates that it is bigger in size than the existing 7-inch SmartPlay Studio unit and could measure around 8-9 inches. The steering wheel also seems to be borrowed from the Swift. The automatic climate control switches and panel will be sourced from the Ignis. The instrument cluster is expected to be retained from the ongoing model.

As far as exterior is concerned, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will witness radical upgrades in the form of headlamps, bumper and grille. The front fascia will be dominated by a larger grille, something that we have been seeing on Genesis cars of Hyundai lately. The headlights will flaunt dual arrow shaped daytime running lamps (DRLs). The alloy wheels and tail lamp cluster will also be built from scratch. Mechanically, the all-new Maruti Baleno will come loaded with the existing range of petrol engines. The 1.2L engine will develop 83 bhp and 90 bhp (with 12V mild-hybrid technology). It is also being learnt that Maruti might introduce a fully hybrid version of the hatchback too in the Indian market.
