Expect a tentative launch timeline of the 2022 Maruti Baleno in and around the first quarter of next year

Maruti Suzuki has been working on the 2022 Baleno facelift for the last few months. Now, the new hatchback has been spotted as a test mule with heavy camouflage for the first time on the Indian roads by our friends at Motorbeam. Though, in December last year, apparently a hybrid unit of the hatch was caught testing but nothing concrete could be made out of that. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift is expected to get substantial cosmetic updates at the outside and inside the cabin while carrying the same petrol engine.

2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift Design & Features

The hatchback spotted was wearing a black camouflage and hence, it didn't reveal much about the changes underneath. However, going by the rear profile in spy-images, it can be stated that the 2022 Baleno could get a revised LED tail lamp cluster. It is also believed that the headlamp units will be all-new too. The front and rear bumpers are also expected to receive a makeover in order to compliment the overall look of the hatchback. The spy shots reflect certain updates in the rear spoiler and we might see a newly designed unit in place of the current one. The side profile could be carried over from the present model. Inside the cabin, it could get a new upholstery with a set of new features.

2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift Engine

2022 Maruti Baleno will carry the same petrol engine as the ongoing version. However, with products like Tata Altroz iTurbo and Hyundai i20 N Line in fray, Maruti might bring back the high-performance RS model back to the Indian market. Right now, the company is focusing on the launch of new-gen Celerio which will be launched during the festive season. Hence, one can expect a tentative launch timeline of the 2022 Maruti Baleno in and around the first quarter of next year. Needless to say, it will be more expensive than the ongoing model due to the new features. The hatchback will be at loggerheads with the likes of Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo and Tata Altroz in the Indian market.
