2022 Skoda Kodiaq Production Starts in India

Skoda Kodiaq is based on the globally acclaimed MQB platform

Skoda India has announced the beginning of production for the upcoming Kodiaq SUV at its Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra. It will be the Czech brand's second SUV launch in the Indian market in 2021 as it introduced Kushaq earlier this year. Being introduced nearly four years back in 2017, Skoda Kodiaq is based on the globally acclaimed MQB platform. The company said that prospective customers can register their interest for the new Kodiaq at the nearest Skoda dealership or through the Skoda India brand website.

Mr Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited, said, “The New KODIAQ is part of the overall SUV offensive of the Group in India. With the start of production at our world-class facility in Aurangabad, we add yet another product that provides the Indian customer with the best of technology, safety and comfort. The New KODIAQ will appeal to the ever-growing tribe of Indian customers looking for a large, luxurious SUV, suited for city and weekend drives. We are confident that the New KODIAQ will set benchmarks in the premium luxury segment and carry forward the momentum of our growth strategy in India”. Skoda Kodiaq will only be offered with a TSI petrol engine.

Adding to the announcement Mr Zac Hollis, Brand Director, ŠKODA AUTO India, said that “The New KODIAQ is the second SUV to be introduced in India this year by ŠKODA. The KODIAQ further drives home our vision to provide our customers in India a complete product portfolio”. Launching in January 2022 in India, Skoda Kodiaq price is expected to over Rs 30 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) as it will rival Toyota Fortuner & Ford Endeavour.
