The new Tata Nexon EV 2022 will be powered by a bigger battery with higher driving range

Tata Motors is working on a more powerful version of the Nexon EV for the Indian market, revealed a transport department document acquired by our friends at Rushlane. Reportedly, the new Tata Nexon EV 2022 will be powered by a bigger battery which will return a driving range of around 500 kilometers on a single charge. The current version has an ARAI Certified range of 312 kms on a full charge while it is offered in five variants namely XM, XZ+, XZ+ LUX, Dark XZ+ and Dark XZ+ LUX in a price range of Rs 13.99-16.85 Lakhs (Ex. Going by the leaked document, Tata Nexon EV 2022 will be powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor which will develop top power of 134 bhp at 4000 rpm. The motor will draw power from a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery which will have capacity of 94.5 Ah. The average energy consumption of the SUV will stand at 119.6 Wh/km, claimed the document. It has been learnt that Tata Altroz EV is also under development and it will also get the same battery as the new version of the Nexon EV. The larger battery pack will enable the hatchback to have a 25-40 percent more range. Just so you know, Tata Motors is all set to launch the 2021 Tigor EV next week in India with a range of nearly 300 kilometers.

The home-grown brand will offer a warranty of 1.60 Lakh kilometers/ 8 years on the battery of the new SUV. We can expect premium features such as electric sunroof, projector headlamps, leatherette upholstery, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, smartphone app for remote vehicle monitoring, automatic climate control system with rear AC vents, leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, reverse parking camera and dual front airbags. Tata Nexon EV 2022 price could be a bit higher than the current model due to the increased power output and range. It will rival Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV in the Indian market.
