New-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift Pre-Bookings Open in India; To Launch in May

Pre-bookings for the new-generation Swift are currently available for a token amount of INR 11,000.

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift in the Indian market in May 2024. A few dealerships in the country have already commenced accepting bookings for the upcoming Swift. Interested customers can reserve the new-generation Swift for a token amount of INR 11,000. The auto giant has not revealed the price details of the new model yet. However, it is expected to be revealed next month.

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be launched in multiple variants. The color schemes are likely to include red, blue, white, black, silver, and orange. In terms of design language, the new hatchback will feature a sporty look and an enhanced front design with new alloy wheels, a grille, a shark-fin antenna, bumpers, and more. The rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillar in the outgoing iteration of the hatchback. The upcoming model will have conventional door handles.

The interior of the new Maruti Swift will receive a fresh design for the dashboard. The interior design will be inspired by other Maruti Suzuki cars, like the Baleno and Fronx. The Swift is likely to get updated features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a head’s-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, and connected car features. The hatchback will get safety features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift model available in global markets is powered by a 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine. The auto giant has not confirmed whether this powertrain will be introduced in India or whether the upcoming Swift will get the same 1.2-litre K12C motor equipped in the current iteration.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the new-generation Swift at a price of INR 6 lakh (ex-showroom). After its official launch in India, the Swift will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Renault Triber.
