The Triumph Scrambler 1200 X replaces the previous 1200 XC motorcycle in the company’s lineup.

Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the new Scrambler 1200 X in the Indian market at a price of INR 11.83 lakh (ex-showroom). The two-wheeler maker has widened its portfolio by adding the new Scrambler 1200 X, which is a more affordable trim than the Scrambler 1200 XC and XE. The 1200 X motorcycle is the replacement for the discontinued 1200 XC model. The 1200 X comes as a more entry-level model with affordable pricing and better rider accessibility. The manufacturer is offering the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 X in five riding modes: Road, Sport, Off-Road, Rain, and Rider Configurable.

The Scrambler 1200 X comes with a seat height of 820 mm, which can be lowered to 795 mm with an extra-low seat height. The new motorcycle comes equipped with Marzocchi suspension units and Nissin brakes, replacing the 1200 XC’s Brembo M50 brakes, piggyback Ohlins rear shocks, and a Showa fork. It has brake discs of 310 mm, which is smaller than the previous model.

Powering the Triumph Scrambler 1200 X is the same 1,200-cc parallel-twin engine. However, the engine now has a throttle body of 50 mm and updated exhaust headers that deliver better flow and a broader spread of torque. The engine now churns out 89 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 110 Nm at 250 rpm.

The new motorcycle gets a 21- to 17-inch spoke wheel combination, making it a perfect fit for off-road travel. The kerb weight of the 1200 X stands at 228 kg, whereas its fuel tank capacity is 15 litres. It comes loaded with features like a digital console with LCD and TFT, cornering dual-channel ABS, five riding modes, and IMU-enabled traction control. Instead of the radial-mount Brembo M50s equipped in the earlier 1200 XC, it gets axially mounted Nissin calipers.

With the new variant, Triumph is offering 70 accessories incorporating luggage options, making it adventure ready. The round dash comes with optional Bluetooth module capabilities such as notification alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. The dash looks similar to the one equipped in the Street Triple R and Triumph's 660cc bikes.
