Koenigsegg Agera RS Now the Fastest Production Car in the World

The Koenigsegg Agera RS beat the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s run by over 16kph.

The Koenigsegg Agera RS is now the fastest production car in the world, after recording a two-way average speed of 447.2kph.

The company set the record at Pahrump, Nevada with Factory driver Niklas Lilja behind the wheel. The title was earlier held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which recorded a speed 431kph in 2010.

The factory driver and the Agera RS also beat the Bugatti Chiron’s 0-400kph-0 record, with a time of 36.44sec compared to the 41.96sec time set earlier by the Chiron. The Agera RS weighs just 1,395kg and uses a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that puts out a whopping 1360hp and 1280Nm.

Koenigsegg also has the powerful Regera in its line-up, but it is yet to fully demonstrate its top speed.
