New Hyundai i20 will come with 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine

New-Gen Hyundai i20 launch is expected to take place in the first week of November 2020. An eagerly awaited introduction, the All-New i20 is vastly different from its predecessor in terms of design, styling, features and performance. As we wait for its official launch, selected dealerships have started accepting unofficial bookings at a token amount ranging between Rs 15,000 - Rs 25,000. Recently we were also prevy to some spy shots that surfaced online revealing the arrival of the premium hatchback at dealerships in the country. In its outlook, the India-spec model is very similiar to the European model which was launched earlier this year. The All-New i20 is being manufactured at Hyundai's Chennai production facility and it is going to be exported to the international markets as well.

Talking about the design, it brings forward Hyundai's latest design philosophy. This is further substantiated by key design elements like a large glossy black-finished cascading grille, projector headlamps and triangular fog lights upfront. Its sides stand to provide diamond cut alloy wheels while the rear tailgate features Z-shaped LED lights that are interconnected via a chrome strip.  Coming to the interior, the cabin is totally new. It boasts of features like a flat bottom steering wheel with mounted controls, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, wireless charging, Hyundai's BlueLink Connect, LED ambient lighting among many others. It is expected that the top-end trim will come equipped with an electric sunroof.

Performance wise, the Next-Gen Hyundai i20 is expected to come fitted with 2 petrol engines namely a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and 1.0-litre turbo unit. There will also be a 1.5-litre diesel unit in the offering. A manual and an automatic gearbox will take care of transmission duties in the premium hatchback. We can also expect the South Korean automaker to make 6-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) and 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) available for the Indian buyers like we saw with Hyundai Venue.

The premium hatchback will come equipped with plenty of safety features like dual front airbags, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring system, ABS with EBD among others. As for pricing, the All-New Hyundai i20 is expected to be retailed at a premium over the current model which is priced at Rs 6.50 lakhs (ex-showroom), India.
