British firm Ariel has just unveiled its 1,196hp, four-wheel-drive electric two-seater at the Low Carbon Vehicles (LCV) event in Millbrook, UK.
The new 1,196hp, all-wheel-drive two-seater from Ariel is capable of going from 0-100kph in just 2.4sec. This New Car has a company-restricted top speed of 258kph. What’s even more impressive is that the car - codenamed the P40 - is capable of 0-160kph in 3.8sec.
The upcoming Ariel is built on an aluminium monocoque chassis. Moreover, the car will use carbon fibre body work to keep the weight around 1,600kg. The P40 uses four separate electric motors producing 299hp each, and it makes a whopping 1,800Nm of torque. Ariel is also predicting that the upcoming supercar’s 0-240kph acceleration times will be 7.8sec. This upcoming Ariel electric supercar is scheduled for production in 2020.
