Ather Energy has finally launched its family-oriented Rizta electric scooter in the Indian market. The Rizta is the latest addition to the brand’s lineup after the 450 Series. The new Rizta e-scooter is available at a starting price of INR 1.10 lakh and goes up to INR 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Bookings for the new e-scooter are now open for a token amount of INR 999, and deliveries will commence in June 2024. The EV maker has now entered the Indian family scooter segment, which commands a sizable 80 percent market share.
The Rizta is the company’s largest scooter, and its big takeaway is its 900 mm seat, which is the longest among any scooters in the country. The electric scooter has an expansive flat floorboard that can accommodate several items, like groceries and office bags. It has under-seat storage of 34 litres. The Rizta's large storage capacity highlights its family-friendly design and makes it an excellent option for regular commuting.

The family scooter is based on a new platform and aims to cater to a larger customer base. The new offering is more rounded in appeal and design. In comparison to its sporty 450-series siblings, Rizta’s styling is relatively more conservative. It gets rounded panels, a mono-LED headlamp, a sharply styled LED taillight, and softer lines. The scooter features 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
The Ather Rizta comes equipped with a TFT digital instrument console that features touch functionality, smartphone connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation. The scooter has retained several features from the 450X, including auto-hill hold and park assist. It has two riding modes: Zip and SmartEco. The family scooter also incorporates a traction control system, an Ather Fall Safe feature, Ather Skid Control technology, and an ESS system. One of the standout features in the new scooter is the wireless under-seat charger for the Ather Halo smart helmet, which charges the helmet's batteries.
Powering the Ather Rizta is the PMS electric motor, which is mounted to the frame. The scooter has a top speed of 80 kmph, and it can sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.7 seconds. Ather is offering the latest family scooter with two battery sets: 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh. The 2.9kWh battery is for the S variant and provides a range of 105 km, while the 3.7kWh unit provides a range of 125 km on a single charge. Both batteries have the standard five-year/60,000-kilometer guarantee, ensuring long-term dependability for consumers.
The Ather Rizta will soon be available at the company’s dealerships, and it is all set to rival the likes of the Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak.
