Audi e-tron GT will take on the likes of Tesla Model S, BMW i4 and Porsche Taycan

Audi e-tron GT will be making its world premiere on February 9, 2021. The all-electric 4-seater sedan debuted as a Concept nearly three years back at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Being the third electric car in Audi's portfolio after the e-tron and the e-tron Sportback, it will go into production at Audi's Bollinger Hofe production facility in Germany. Audi e-tron GT will be introduced in two trims namely Standard e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. It has been developed alongside the Porsche Taycan by the Volkswagen Group.

Speaking of the exterior styling, the e-tron GT gets the signature hexagonal Audi grille and LED Matrix headlamps with laser beam upfront. Despite being a 4-seater sedan, it flaunts a coupe-like floating roofline which integrates into the boot. The rear profile boasts of arrow-shaped LED tail-lamp clusters and a sporty bumper. The cabin is expected to come with a host of premium and advanced features in the form of an all-digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable driver and co-driver seats, ambient lighting and a huge touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Voice Commands. Audi has used aluminum, high-strength steel, and carbon fiber in the body of the e-tron GT.

The sedan will get a couple of permanent synchronous motors with each (front and rear) axle getting one electric motor. The base variants are expected to deliver a top power of 517bhp while the top-spec trims will have a maximum power output of 600bhp. It will do a 0-100 kmph sprint in merely 3.5 seconds while having a driving range of more than 400 kilometers on a single charge as per the WLTP test cycle. The Audi Quattro four-wheel-drive system could also be in the offing alongside an automatic transmission. Audi e-tron GT will take on the likes of Tesla Model S, BMW i4 and Porsche Taycan in international markets. We can also expect the e-tron GT to launch in the Indian market by the end of 2021.
