Audi will install a software update to improve emissions

The carmaker has initiated a voluntary recall of 8.5 lakh cars worldwide. The cars that are included in this recall are powered by the company’s V6 and V8 TDI diesel engines.

Audi will tweak the car’s software to improve their emissions in real-world driving conditions. The brand has collaborated with the German Federal Transport Authority KBA to carry out this procedure. The company has stated that it is cooperating fully with the authorities, but avoided mentioning if any wrongdoing had been found. The company has also stated that if the German authority should find any discrepancies, Audi will take the necessary steps needed.

Audi has stated that the recall will future-proof the affected cars against possible bans.
