These new nameplates could be used for the brand's upcoming all-electric motorcycle
Bajaj Auto, as a part of its plans to extend the product portfolio, has filed a trademark for 'FLUOR' and 'FLUIR' monikers in India. The company already has some of the most popular bikes in its arsenal such as Bajaj Pulsar, Discover and Dominar. It has been learnt that these new nameplates could be used for the brand's upcoming all-electric motorcycle. 'Fluir' is a Spanish word which denotes ‘Flow’ (of a stream). It is also believed that Bajaj will use only one name between FLUOR and FLUIR for the new electric bike.
The trademark form states that both these new names are for automobiles, land vehicles, two-wheelers, motorcycles, scooters, three wheelers, electric vehicles, their parts, etc. Although details are too scarce at the moment for the new electric bikes, but it can be said on the basis of name that it could be a pretty flowy and curvier product. It is highly unlikely that the company will use these monikers for its conventional petrol powered motorcycles as it already boasts of five sub-brands with massive outreach among the masses. The five sub-brands have a lot of space for new products under them and hence, it doesn't seem to be a wise idea to introduce yet another sub-brand.
Bajaj Fluor and Bajaj Fluir also sound a bit weird for a traditional motorcycle with petrol engine. Hence, it can be claimed that the Pune-based bikemaker will only use these names for all-new electric motorcycles. However, nothing is finalized as of now and we might have to wait for a good six months to get more clarity on the same. Meanwhile, in other news, it is working on a new range of Pulsar bikes which could hit the Indian roads as early as 2022. Bajaj has also planned a 250cc version of the Pulsar to take on the likes of Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250. In addition, Bajaj Pulsar 150 and Bajaj Pulsar 180 will be introduced in a never-seen-before avatar in the Indian market.
