The new paint scheme will add to the existing three and will be available at a slight increase in price.

The new matte black paint shade complements the three existing colours – midnight blue, twilight plum and moon white. There are no other cosmetic or mechanical changes to the bike, however.

The Dominar uses an engine derived from the KTM 390 and features the company’s patented triple-sparkplug head and is available in a different state of tune as compared to the KTM from which it has been derived. The bike makes 35hp of peak power and 35Nm of peak torque and is designed to provide great rideability at low speeds, so it makes 28Nm of its torque at just 3,000rpm.

The bike offers distinct road-presence, good performance and sporty handling and comes with an attractive price, which explains its sales figures -  Bajaj Auto has sold approximately 3,500 units of the bike each month for the past few months. Sales did take a hit last month (May 2017), but the company attributes this to uncertainty amongst buyers

The bike is currently priced at ₹1.39 lakh for the non-ABS version and ₹1.53 lakh for the dual-channel ABS version (both prices ex-showroom Delhi), while the price of this matte black paint scheme is expected to go up by about ₹4,000.
