Royal Enfield launched the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 on November 14. The company have priced both the bikes very competitively. The Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are priced at Rs. 2.89 lakhs and Rs. 3.05 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
These bikes were one of the most anticipated bikes of recent times and the booking of these bikes started from October 24. Customers were able to book their machine by paying a nominal sum of Rs. 5000/-. The motorcycles are available across all dealerships in the country.
Royal Enfield will start delivering the bikes by the end of January 2019. The exact number of bookings made are not yet revealed but since the launch, the booking numbers have risen. The dealers have also mentioned that due to a spike in booking the motorcycles are having a waiting period of 3 months.
Powering the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 is a 648cc air and liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine. The engine churns out 47 HP at 7250 RPM and a peak torque of 52 Nm at 5250 RPM. This engine is very refined when compared with single-cylinder Royal Enfield engines. Both the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 are made at Royal Enfield’s facility at Oragadam, Chennai.
